Gua Sha Guide: How to Use This Tool For Glowing Skin
If you haven't heard of Gua Sha, know this. Once you know how to use a Gua Sha it will transform your skin. Gua Sha means 'to scrape' and this rose quartz tool by Skin Gym relieves puffiness, works deep down to lessen muscle tension and draws toxins away from your complexion to leave you looking radiant and bright.
If you suffer from tension headaches or grind your teeth and have to deal with an achy jaw, the Gua Sha can offer welcome relief. A super nifty tool, use it with your favourite serum or face oil morning or night for best results.
How to Use a Gua Sha
Below Alejandro, from Skin Gym's HQ in the US, shows you how to use a Gua Sha. It's a simple step by step guide...
Step One: Apply a serum or spritz your skin with a face mist to add slip, so the Gua Sha can glide well.
Step Two: Hold your skin taut and hold the Gua Sha against your face at a 5- to 10-degree angle. Use a firm pressure to ease out puffiness, tension and knots to lift the skin. You might notice a little redness, that's normal and is a sign that you're boosting skin circulation and, in turn, glow!
Step Three: Use the large concave side to sculpt up your neck.
Step Four: With the pronged edge of your Gua Sha, place the longer prong under the jawline to hug it and scrape up and out towards the ear along the bone. This feels so good and you might notice some knots, or areas of tension, that you can ease away with the tool.
Step Five: Now, using that large concave edge again, lift up from below the brow and scrape up to the hairline to give your forehead a lift!
Step Six: Lastly, drain all the puffiness and toxins out towards the ear and then massage down the neck so it can be drained away via the lymphatic system.
