Using a lip pencil, overline the Cupid’s bow before following your natural lip line down to the corners. "By slightly overlining the Cupid’s bow area of the upper lip, the shape of the lip looks enhanced and the space between the nose and lip is shortened," explains Dedivanovic. Now, move to your lower lip and lightly overline the centre of your bottom lip to create the illusion of a lifted lip. "When slightly overlining the centre of the lower lip line and then drawing the liner upwards towards the outer corners of the mouth, lips get a lifted look."

You know how makeup often looks better an hour or so after application, this trick fast-tracks that effect. Not just good for mattifying, blotting can help foundation look more natural and less cakey. Sam says, "after applying foundation, separate a two-ply tissue and use one piece to blot any excess oil to achieve a more skin-like finish.”
