Awards season came to an end with the glittering Oscars show last Sunday night. Thousands of beauty looks have been paraded down red carpets across the globe, and while some are not easily recreated, best reserved to expert glam squads with killer skills, some were downright do-able.
Below we have pulled together 3 celebrity beauty trends that we spied on our favourite A-list stars along with some tips and tricks to re-create them for any weddings, parties or special occasions you have coming up...
Accessorise with Jewellery
This awards season, some stars sidestepped traditional hair accessories in favour of adorning their 'do's with jewellery. Pearls are having a moment in the fashion world and we're obsessed with actress Lucy Boynton's pearl-adorned parting.
Hairstylist Adir Abergel, Creative Director at Virtue Labs, stitched a Tiffany diamond bracelet into a small braid along Charlize Theron's parting. Okay, this isn't the easiest look to try at home, but if you like a challenge...
When styling your hair into any type of up 'do, be it a braid, bun or ponytail, and especially if you're using hair accessories that you want to stay put, the products you prep with are key.
You know how hair is always most manageable a day or two after washing it, well you can re-create that gutsy texture with Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray, €46.
Alternatively, if you have second-day hair and want to refine the texture then work a little Virtue 6-in-1 Styler, €19, into your strands.
Billie Eilish's hairstylist Mara Roszak plaited her hair with a Chanel scarf, before pinning the hair into a bun and adorning it with a Chanel brooch. Vintage brooches clustered together can look beautiful pinned to a romantic, wispy low-slung knot. Give it a try!
Red Lips Are Always in Fashion
Red lipstick is quite possibly the most classic beauty look. Find your perfect red lipstick and it will be the ideal go-to when you want to make a statement with your makeup but you're not sure what to wear.
Okay, this is genius. Zoe Kravitz's glam squad has matched her red lipstick to her earrings.
To find the perfect red lipstick you need to work out whether you have a warm or cool skin tone:
Look at your veins (bit weird, but stick with us), if your veins are green then you most likely have a warm skin tone and would suit orange-red lipsticks. If your veins are blue, then you are more likely to be cool-toned and suit a blue-red lipstick. Got a combo of blue and green veins, then you have a neutral skin tone and can wear both blue-red, orange-red and classic, neutral postbox red too!
Another easy way to work it out is to look at your jewellery. If you tend to wear gold jewellery then you're likely to have a warm skin tone. Wear silver then, you guessed it, your skin tone is probably cool.
You'll notice that all three stars have paired their red lipstick with a taupe or copper-hued eyeshadow, it looks beautiful and feels more wearable than a heavy, dark charcoal smoky eye. Give it a try!
This awards season, the stars proved you don't have to wear tons of colour to make an impact with your beauty look. Neutral tones of taupe, bronze and browns give your makeup a refined, polished, look without detracting from a statement outfit.
Make like the actress Jodie Comer, Emily Ratajkowski and Kim Kardashian by keeping your complexion dewy and playing up eye definition with liquid liner and lashings of mascara.
Load your lashes with plenty of Kevyn Aucoin The Volume Mascara, €30.
